Finance Support is the first point of contact for internal customers, enabling them to access the right service (including self-service) at the right time to the right standards. We provide case management services across the entire scope of Finance Services, managing and resolving the vast majority of cases.
We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Finance Support Officer. The role will have a Finance focus, so a sound knowledge of Finance processes is essential, as is a working knowledge of the MS Office suite of packages.
An excellent communicator, this role provides vital financial support across a broad range of key finance activities, helping to ensure effective financial management and compliance across the council. The position is responsible for supporting and coordinating work across Treasury Management, Capital Accounting, Revenue Outturn and Revenue Accounts (RO/RA), Earmarked Reserves, Grants, Joint Arrangements, and Transactional Finance processes.
A key part of the role is being the first point of contact for the Finance Support Officers giving timely advice and support. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

About you:
The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, taking ownership of their work, with the ability to interpret, extract and assess important information, especially numerical data. You will have a commitment to embracing change, striving to continually improve, as well as a strong customer service ethos and excellent communication skills.
You should be capable of working in an accurate and organised way and have a good eye for detail, assisting with improvements to make the team more efficient. It is essential that you can work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and adopt a flexible approach.
