We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Education Welfare Officer to join our Education Welfare Service team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full-time, permanent basis.
In this role, you will lead on casework to ensure children and young people attend school regularly, working in partnership with families, schools and other agencies to secure positive outcomes. You will also support the development of service practice and mentor colleagues as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Managing complex attendance cases in line with legal requirements and council policy
- Supporting and guiding Education Welfare Officers to develop best practice
- Preparing and presenting cases for legal processes where required
Candidate Requirements:
- Significant experience of education welfare or a related field
- Ability to build effective relationships with families and professionals, demonstrating strong communication and negotiation skills
- A good understanding of legislation and WBC safeguarding practices
